A
long walk in blooming greenery
With
wild oak trees for company
Wind
whispering secrets to lilies,
And
streams humming tunes lazily
Isn't a solitary long walk catharsis
Relieving
soul of many a menace?
Hold
on! There is to it another face
Real
truth is that life is a mad race
Toil
is fated for us all, you and me
We
have to work, quite inevitably
Be
in office or in dust, we've to see
That
kitchen fires burn comfortably
And
this slog sucks each second
Of
our rhetoric mundane being
Years
pass and leave most of us
With
mere dreams of walk-in-woods

Very nice indeed
ReplyDeleteHello Ma'am
DeleteThanks a lot!
Yes,the reality of life permits no space for dream walks in the wood. This has been ably captured in the beautiful rhyming verse.

The true reality of life but we can always find solace even for sometime be it in the walk among woods!

Life goes on, our dreams and goals shape us, but all in all we are in a race and often forget the things that truly make us happy. Thanks for sharing that!

"There is a door you have closed forever
ReplyDeleteand some mirror is expecting you in vain;
To you the crossroads seem wide open,
Yet watching you, four faced, is a Janus." - Borges.
Is it fatalism? or is it a choice that we have made?
Hi Aman
Deletelovely lines by Borges! Thanks for sharing!
It can be both. Sometimes, fate decides for us and we are lest with nothing but one way- of toil.
