Art I


I know you must be wondering about the confusion above! It is my attempt in painting what I actually feel like. The girl shown is a teen (all young girls) who wants to see and feel her sun (aim/goal) but the society prevents her from doing so and tries to molest her. Like serpents, it hisses around her with malicious intentions, while many more predators eye her. On the other hand, she is compared with moon (beauty), stars and sun and is idolized by our hypocrite society.

    Really liked the painting and your thoughts behind it.The horror in the eyes of the girl has been beautifully expressed. I saw your painting on that Afghan girl. That was really good too.

    Not only the 'predators' in our society, even our 'aadi' poets(the revered ones) did not leave women from their lecherous expressions . I have been exploring that recently and have written a long poem on it. Will post that in couple of weeks on my blog.

    Hats off to you oh dear multitalented friend !
    You are making others also realize the heinous and unacceptable actions of our society.

    It is really disheartening to see soo many women losing their goals and aims and just leading a sad life for the sake of others.--All this just for the sake of hollow laws of the society?

    Comparing to Stars, and Idolizing at one hand and torturing at the other is not just hypocricy, it is pure ignorance and the most pitiable and shameful fact of it is that there are actually more women than men in our society who actually come in the way of the girl and her sun. If men are trying to molest and rape the physical bodies, women are raping their souls itself. I wonder why it is not being taken up so seriously.

    I wish more girls and women in our country not only realize it but also dare to go against such baseless views and laws of the so called society of India.

    You have conveyed he agony and helplessness of the young girl in her eyes.It is a brutal society where there is a constant ocular violation of a woman/girl's modesty whenever she stirs out alone.But there is a slow awareness to the malaise thanks to alert society and media.
